We were unsuccessful to appoint a race organiser during the club’s AGM so we had no race organiser to take charge of our race.  At one time the EXCO even considered presenting a 10km race only as our original race date in May was only two days after the Wally. Fortunately for us Ndaba cancelled their races for 2008 and we applied for their race date on 9 February 2008. AGN confirmed that the date was awarded to us in middle December 2007. We could not manage to fill all the portfolios of our race committee but we still managed to organise our race in less than two months, which included changing our route as our start and finish had to be changed as we could not make use of the Adelaars rugby field in 18th Avenue and we had to change to an old sport field of theirs on 15th Avenue. This is the first year since Agapé started presenting our race that it moved from May to February (after about 19 years). As all our members have not yet joined in the early stages of the year we had to make use of approximately 100 friends and family members to enable us to have sufficient workers on race day. Even though all books still advertised our race date as May, as well as the short period we had to distribute pamphlets, we had a splendid outcome of more than 2087 runners / walkers. The breakdown of those numbers was;
